The Big 100

I said in my last post that I was not going to build my mileage higher than 80 for the coming weeks. I lied. Actually, I didn't try to get more miles in, they just seemed to happen. I'm blaming the excellent weather. All of the sudden it is fun to run again and a 12 miler feels like nothing. After my fourth and final Cleveland 20 miler today, I have my first 100 mile week. I feel tired, but totally healthy after putting in these miles and I'm ready to keep myself in the 90-100 range for next week. On Friday I will be leaving for a mini-vaca in Colorado! When I come back I will probably run the local Run.4.Fun 5k put on by Medina City Schools, one shorter long run on the Cleveland course and then it is Cleveland Marathon time. After finding myself comfortable with higher mileage, I've also decided to scrap my 5k training plan for June and train for the Buckeye Trail 50k in July. Once again, I'm straying from my 2015 plan, which did not include a 50k, but I really want to do this, so I probably will. I was nervous about hitting this mileage all day yesterday, even wondering what I would do if I got hurt during the long run and couldn't meet the goal. I was pretty emotional for the last few miles of the run and on the final half mile stretch up to my house I was smiling at everyone out walking their dogs and driving by. I probably looked like a small, sweaty, insane woman. On to next week!
Adrian wanted to be in my pre-long run pic. Cutest mini-me ever.
